Rev Bras Med Esporte – Vol. 24, No 5 – Set/Out, 2018 ABSTRACT Introduction: Breast cancer treatment can cause different side effects on the quality of life of women. Physical activity, in turn, can reduce these side effects. Objective: To investigate the physical activity and quality of life of women during and after breast cancer treatment. Methods: Sample of 174 women (57.0±9.5 years) during or after clinical treatment for breast cancer. Interview questionnaire composed of general information, physical activity (IPAQ short version) and quality of life (EORTC QLQ-C30 and BR23). For statistical analysis chi-squared test or Fisher’s exact test, student’s t-test for independent samples, Mann-Whitney U test and multiple logistic regression analyses (p <0.05). Results: Most women did not achieve the physical activity guidelines, particularly those undergoing clinical treatment. Results showed longer walking time, moderate physical activity, vigorous physical activity, moderate + vigorous physical activity, and total physical activity among the women following completion of treatment. The quality of life scores were also higher among women after clinical treatment. Logistic regression indicated that every 10-minute increment to walking time results in a 19% decrease in the probability of worse functional capacity and a 26% decrease in the probability of worse symptoms associated with treatment side effects. Conclusion: During treatment, women with breast cancer undertake less physical activity and have worse quality of life. Walking appears to be an effective type of physical activity for these women, improving quality of life during and after breast cancer treatment. Level of evidence II; Prognostic studies Investigation of the effect of patient characteristics on the disease outcome.

ABSTRACT Body image is multidimensional, dynamic, and entirely linked to the body in motion, which entails relevant bodily concerns in the routine of professional dancers, who need to maintain their body aesthetics constantly. The objective was summarizing the scientific production on the body image of professional dancers and to understand how they perceive it. This review is composed by seven studies that investigated professional dancers of classical ballet, jazz and contemporary dance. The results demonstrate that even though they are lean and had appropriate body mass index, professional dancers are dissatisfied with their body and wish to be thinner, that is, professional dancers constitute a risk group for the development of eating disorders. Keywords: dancing; body image; feeding and eating disorders.

Introduction: We have been observing the growth and strengthening of the academic-scientific production through individual or research groups with common interests. However, up to present moment, we have not identified qualitative and quantitative information on the theme “sexuality.” Thus, this constitutes a gap in knowledge, both in Health Care as in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Objective: The aim of the present study is to investigate the Brazilian research groups devoted to study the topic “sexuality.” These groups are registered in the Directory of Research Groups created by the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). The secondary endpoint of our study is to analyze the scientific production of the leaders and vice-leaders of these groups in the last three years (2010-2012). Materials and Methods: Data were obtained from an advanced research carried out directly from the Brazilian Directory of Research Group database hosted on the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development website. We searched materials with the term “sexuality” only. Subsequently, we carried out a new search using the Lattes Platform, in order to investigate the Lattes curriculum of the leaders and vice-leaders of research groups (RG) found. We delimited, as inclusion criteria for this survey, production in scientific journals, books, and book chapters published between 2010 and 2012. We considered only productions with the word “sexuality” in the title. Results: We found 343 groups, which are responsible for 3,670 published articles, 597 books, and 2,017 chapters of books. However, “sexuality” was addressed only by 2.91% of the articles, 7.03% of the books, and 9.17% of the chapters of books.
