Problem-solving in the crossroads of Psychology: reflection around unification

Solving problems is a constant of the life, and to find “good” solutions requires transversal abilities to the experiences of the human being. Our aim is to study the utility of problem solving in the psychological inquiry, especially in the educational area. We’ve restricted this study to literature review, aiming the approach to a conceptual and methodological unit of assisting in understanding, measure and management of psychological contents and processes and in a diversity of contexts. Following previous works for the defence of the unification of psychology, we conclude with the convergence of meanings and the possibility to polarize on the problem solving an interpretative potential and modifier of extensive processes of development throughout life, learning and personal and social orientation.
