O uso de indicadores como ferramenta de gestão na estratégia saúde da família

Aim: to verify the use of health indicators in the daily work of nursing managers of the Family Health Strategy in a medium-sized municipality in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Methods: this study is a descriptive research with qualitative approach. Data were collected with thirteen nursing managers through semi structured interviews and were subsequently analyzed by thematic analyses. Results: the indicators are considered a possibility for planning and evaluating the actions in health in the Family Health Unit, even though some distance between theory and practice was shown. Conclusion: it is suggested a change of perspective of the professionals involved and it is pointed to the need for investment in lifelong learning as an alternative to overcome the difficulties experienced

Enfrentamentos da criança com câncer frente ao afastamento escolar devido internação hospitalar

Aim: to identify coping of the children with cancer on being removed from school life because of hospitalization. Method: research with a qualitative approach, developed in a University Hospital in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, from October to November 2007, with the use of semi structured interviews with nine children and of content analysis. Results: two thematic categories emerged: “Difficulties referred to the child’s school performance: of the diagnosis to the treatment” and “Support and stimulus to staying in school”, in which it was mentioned the relatives, school of origin and hospital type. Conclusions: thinking about the clashes of these children when across with the removal of the school life is relevant to nursing professionals as also being attention to them, in order to provide comprehensive care to these clients being relevant.

O ENFERMEIRO NA ASSISTÊNCIA AO IDOSO PORTADOR DE ALZHEIMER: Relato de Experiência na Atenção Básica

Objetivos: o objetivo geral desse trabalho e descrever as atividades desenvolvidas no âmbito academico, noAcompanhamento Terapeutico (AT) a um idoso portador de Alzheimer. Metodo: trata-se de um relato de experiencia,construido a partir das vivencias academicas oportunizadas pela disciplina de Saude Coletiva III, do Curso deEnfermagem da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. Buscou-se uma adaptacao ao contexto de vida do idoso com a elaboracao de um Plano Terapeutico Singular, desenvolvido por meio de visitas domiciliares que perfizeram durante os meses de junho a julho de 2008. Resultados: a pratica do AT, na Atencao Basica, demonstrou ser uma forma do enfermeiro atuar como um modelo e estimulo para o paciente e gerar oportunidades de promover a educacao em saude e incentivar o resgate da porcao saudavel e vital do sujeito. Consideracoes Finais: o enfermeiro deve incorporar praticas que aproximem e favorecam a qualidade da relacao entre profissional-paciente.
