Mortalidade por doenças circulatórias e evolução da saúde da família no Brasil: um estudo ecológico

O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a mortalidade por doencas circulatorias paralelamente a evolucao da Estrategia Saude da Familia no Brasil. Estudo ecologico, retrospectivo, baseado na evolucao temporal da ESF e nas taxas de mortalidade por doencas circulatorias no Brasil. Foi realizada uma descricao da razao de cobertura habitante x ESF e dos indicadores de saude relacionados a mortalidade por doencas circulatorias. Para a associacao estatistica utilizou-se o teste de Correlacao de Spearman. Houve aumento populacional no Brasil em 15%, evolucao de 761% no numero de ESF e 5% de aumento na mortalidade por doencas circulatorias. A razao populacao x ESF passou de 52.838 (1998) para 7.084 (2006) pessoas assistidas por ESF. As regioes norte e nordeste apresentaram crescimento nas taxas de mortalidade por doencas circulatorias e em 21 (81%) estados houve correlacao positiva entre mortalidade por doencas circulatorias e ESF (r: > 0,7; p < 0,01). Por fim, considera-se a ESF uma importante politica publica de saude, tendo obtido resultados exitosos no Brasil desde a sua implementacao. Entretanto, em um contexto geral, sua expansao nao influenciou a reducao da mortalidade por doencas circulatorias, tendo apresentado aumento deste indicador no pais.

Rede de atenção em saúde mental na perspectiva dos coordenadores de serviços de saúde

This is an exploratory descriptive study based on a qualitative approach which purpose was to understand how health service coordinators involved in providing care to individuals in psychological distress perceive the organization of the mental health care network in Santa Maria, state of Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and vignettes in the months of April and May 2008. Ten health service coordinators participated in the study. The data were processed through thematic analyses and, subsequently, grouped into three clusters of meaning: The understanding of care flows, network operation, and of the difficulties and potential envisioned. The results showed a network under construction, highlighting the existence of movements aimed at improving coordination between the services and the resulting quality of care provided to the users of the mental health care network. The authors propose a reinforcement of the relations between the services, heightening the relationship between primary care, substitutive services, and hospital care. Emphasis is put on the role played by management in the process, considering the need for the involvement of different sectors in order to attain a more qualified mental health care service.

O uso de indicadores como ferramenta de gestão na estratégia saúde da família

Aim: to verify the use of health indicators in the daily work of nursing managers of the Family Health Strategy in a medium-sized municipality in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Methods: this study is a descriptive research with qualitative approach. Data were collected with thirteen nursing managers through semi structured interviews and were subsequently analyzed by thematic analyses. Results: the indicators are considered a possibility for planning and evaluating the actions in health in the Family Health Unit, even though some distance between theory and practice was shown. Conclusion: it is suggested a change of perspective of the professionals involved and it is pointed to the need for investment in lifelong learning as an alternative to overcome the difficulties experienced

Enfermagem, auditoria e regulação em saúde: um relato de experiência

4 ABSTRACT Audit is the practical control of the use of health services and an educational process, able to contribute to the improvement of healthcare. This study aims at reporting the implementation of the Audit and Health Regulation Centre in a municipality of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. It focuses on the difficulties, potentialities and preliminary results of the centre. It was a successful experience, since the expected results were achieved. Continuing education, teamwork and interdisciplinary actions are important for the consolidation of health care practices, particularly audit and regulation. It is important to emphasize the nurses role in auditing, regulation, and in leading new ways of health promotion.Audit is the practical control of the use of health services and an educational process, able to contribute to the improvement of healthcare.
