This research goal is to analyze how knowledge management implementation framework contemplates the knowledge spiral. The research method adopted was an exploratory multiple case study in two Portugal organizations. The main result is: frameworks focus on the aspects related with the implementation condition (support of high administration, culture, etc.), instead of knowledge spiral. One organization focus on the externalization, and the other organization has an equilibrium among externalization, combination, socialization, internalization.

Este artigo busca contribuir para um melhor entendimento do processo de coopeticao (cooperacao e competicao simultâneas) que ocorre em redes horizontais de pequenas e medias empresas, tema que tem se apresentado como um campo de estudo relevante da administracao estrategica. O objetivo desta pesquisa e analisar os elementos-chave que caracterizam a coopeticao em redes horizontais de pequenas e medias empresas selecionadas do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. A estrategia de pesquisa adotada foi de estudo de casos multiplos, com investigacao qualitativa, que teve como tecnicas de coleta de dados entrevistas em profundidade com roteiro semiestruturado e analise documental. Os respondentes sao associados e gestores das Redes Agafarma e Redecore. Os dados foram tratados e analisados com o uso da tecnica de analise de conteudo. De acordo com os resultados, pode-se inferir que os elementos-chave da coopeticao identificados a partir da teoria, incluindo (i) confianca e reciprocidade; (ii) complementaridade e comprometimento; (iii) troca de experiencias e aprendizagem; (iv) historico e identidade; (v) adaptabilidade e alinhamento; (vi) interdependencia e igualdade; (vii) incompatibilidade e conflitos; (viii) concorrencia e rivalidade; (ix) controle e padronizacao; (x)desempenho individual e coletivo; e (xi) independencia e autonomia, encontram-se presentes nas redes estudadas. As redes de empresas analisadas possuem todos os elementos propostos em diferentes graus de intensidade, em funcao de suas caracteristicas diversas e especificas, como porte, segmento de atuacao, tempo de existencia, empresas concorrentes diretas ou nao e outros aspectos. Destaca-se que os elementos vinculados a dimensao cooperacao mostraram-se presentes nas redes com maior intensidade que os elementos vinculados a dimensao competicao. Over the years, technology parks have attracted organizations seeking competitiveness through innovation and technological cooperation. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the competencies contained within a technology park, TECNOPUC, and the competitiveness of the Information Technology (IT) firms located within it. A qualitative exploratory study was conducted involving experts on the topic, the Park managers and managers from seven firms located in the Park. The findings reveal the perception that the brand TECNOPUC and the working environment provided by the Park are the competencies that are more closely related to the competitiveness of the firms located within it. The managers interviewed seem to be in the Park in search of business opportunities with large corporations, focusing their actions on reducing costs in order to achieve greater competitiveness. Rather than developing or selling technology, the priority seems to be selling products and services. Thus, actions aimed at encouraging and promoting research, technological development and innovations, such as the implementation of joint projects, for example, are not prioritized.

A avaliacao do desempenho de pequenas e medias empresas atuando em redes de cooperacao experimenta dificuldades, como falta de dados, informacoes financeiras nao confiaveis ou receio de divulgar informacoes para terceiros, entre outras. Embora a crescente bibliografia sobre redes, ainda se constata a falta de modelos para analise do desempenho individual de empresas atuando em redes. O objetivo do artigo e apresentar um modelo para avaliacao de mudancas no desempenho de empresas em redes de cooperacao, atraves da percepcao de seus gestores sobre as melhorias advindas de seu ingresso nestas redes. Esta proposta constitui um ensaio teorico, baseado em bibliografia sobre os temas avaliacao de desempenho e redes de cooperacao. Na visao dos autores, a experimentacao do modelo em um caso hipotetico neste artigo, permitiu constatar que o mesmo poderia fornecer informacoes valiosas sobre as melhorias de desempenho, tanto para os gestores das empresas como para os da rede.

This research analyses the applicable attributes for information quality assessment in intranet environment supporting knowledge management in software development companies. It was adopted a qualitative research method using a multiple case study in three software development companies located in Brazil. In the first phase, it was identified 9 primary attributes (precision, clarity, relevancy, credibility, completeness, actuality, timing, presentation and concision), considered more relevant for information quality assessment within the research context and 17 secondary attributes that had some restrictions according to the specialists’ analysis. In the second phase, it was confirmed the attributes accepted by the specialists and included other attributes that received some restrictions from the specialists. The intranet users analysis resulted in a set of 9 attributes of the information quality suggested as applicable in the Intranet environment was identified to support the knowledge management in companies of software development (precision, clarity, relevancy, credibility, completeness, actuality, timing, source and order). The information quality evaluation was considered important to improve the information credibility and to obtain benefits using this information to support the software development process. It was identified that, there is a relationship among the selected attributes. For example, it is observed that the credibility is the result of the evaluation of all attributes.

A partir da decada de 90, em funcao de um processo de profundas transformacoes na configuracao da economia, observa-se um movimento das organizacoes para desenvolverem estrategias empresariais buscando vantagens em acoes coletivas. Dentre os modelos organizacionais que representam estes esforcos, destacam-se as cadeias de suprimentos. Sob esta perspectiva, pode-se afirmar que as competencias de uma cadeia sao sustentadas pelo objetivo comum de produzir um produto da melhor maneira possivel, dependendo, assim, sensivelmente da contribuicao de cada uma das empresas que a compoem. Neste contexto, esta pesquisa buscou identificar a contribuicao de empresas fornecedoras nas competencias de uma cadeia de suprimentos. Caracteriza-se como uma pesquisa qualitativa de natureza exploratoria, na forma de um estudo de caso em uma cadeia de suprimentos automotiva localizada no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Os resultados mostraram que as empresas fornecedoras apresentam diferentes niveis de agregacao de valor, mas esta diferenciacao nao e expressiva.
