Venous ulcer and compression therapy for nurses: development of online course

Objective: To describe the development of an online course about venous ulcer, with a focus on compression therapy, for the educating of nurses. Methods: The development of an online course followed the phases of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation, based on contextualized instructional design. Results: The course was divided into ten modules structured in the Moodle virtual learning environment. It was characterized by a constructivist approach, aimed at increasing student participation, to provide principal references, reviews and consensus, and to utilize multimedia objects and interactive educational resources. Conclusion: The course provides professional nursing education in compression therapy in an innovative, flexible, interactive manner in various care settings.Objective: To describe the development of an online course about venous ulcer, with a focus on compression therapy, for the educating of nurses. Desenvolvimento do curso de gerenciamento em enfermagem on-line: experiência exitosa entre Brasil e Portugal

Objetivo Describir la experiencia en la planificacion y desarrollo de un Curso de Actualizacion Online de Gestion de Enfermeria para las enfermeras en los contextos Brasil y Portugal. Metodo el diseno de instruccion del Curso esta basado en la Teoria del Aprendizaje Significativo, en la Andragogia y la Metodologia Dialectica, valorando la interaccion entre los actores y privilejiando los escenarios de practica y la aplicacion de los conceptos tratados. Resultados El curso se estructura en nueve unidades teoricas, cuatro estudios de casos y prueba disertativa. Fue evaluado positivamente por los participantes, que informaron de la posibilidad de adquirir nuevos conocimientos; la interaccion y el intercambio de experiencias; la motivacion para el estudio de los temas y el autoaprendizaje. Conclusion Se espera que la experiencia descrita estimule la proposicion de nuevos cursos y programas en la modalidad de Educacion a Distancia, mejorando los procesos de ensenanza y aprendizaje para subsidiar los futuros analisis de su impacto en el desarrollo y mejora de las capacidades de gestion en enfermeria.Objective To describe the experience of planning and developing online refresher courses in nursing management for nurses in the contexts of Brazil and Portugal. Method The instructional design was based on meaningful learning theory, andragogy, and dialectical methodology, so it valued interaction between the actors, emphasizing the scenarios of practice and applying the concepts covered. The course structure is divided into nine theoretical units, four case studies, and an essay exam. Results The course was positively evaluated by the participants, who reported opportunities for acquisition of new knowledge, interaction and exchange of experiences, motivation to study the topics, and self-learning. Conclusion It is expected that description of this experience will stimulate proposals for new courses and programs in distance education modalities, improving the processes of teaching and learning so as to give support to future analyses of their impact on the development and enhancement of management skills in nursing.Objetivo Descrever a experiencia no planejamento e desenvolvimento de um Curso de Atualizacao On-Line em Gerenciamento em Enfermagem destinado a enfermeiros nos contextos Brasil e Portugal. PERCEPÇÃO DO IMPACTO NO TRABALHO DE UM TREINAMENTO ON-LINE SOBRE PREVENÇÃO DE LESÃO POR PRESSÃO

Objective: to assess the impact perception in amplitude, and the support for the transferring of the online training on pressure injury prevention. Method: this is an exploratory-descriptive study, developed in the city of Sao Paulo, in the University Hospital of the University of Sao Paulo. The research population was composed of 97 nurses who worked in units with patients at higher risk of developing pressure injury. In addition, two instruments were applied for assessing the support on the transfer and the impact perception. The data were submitted to descriptive statistical analyzes and Pearson’s correlation coefficients, with the aid of the software R® 3.2.2. Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient was used to verify the internal consistency of the scales. Results: the impact perception of the training in the current study had an average value of 7.05±1.60. In the assessment of the Transfer Support, the average was 5.82±1.45. The impact analysis on the study showed significant values, indicating that there was transference and construction of knowledge, as well as skills developed by nurses in the online training for the care practice in the prevention of pressure injury. The assessment of the transfer support allowed us to examine the type of environment found by nurses to make the assimilated contents transfer to their professional practice. Conclusion: the results of the assessments show that the online training provides knowledge to the nurses and contribute to the implementation of new educational technologies in the permanent actions of training and development of the nursing professionals
