Estratégias de implementação do processo de enfermagem para uma pessoa infectada pelo HIV

Aiming at valuing the use of strategies such as teaching and learning methods, the relaxation technique and coping are described in a case study concerning a hospitalized HIV-positive person presenting the Acquired Immuno-Defficiency Syndrome (AIDS). The Conceptual Model proposed by Dorotheia Orem (OREM, 1985), Risners proposal for the conduction of diagnostic thinking and the Nursing Diagnostic Unifying System proposed by NANDA (NANDA, 1996) were use as theoretical framework. Among the identified diagnoses, three were selected in order to exemplify the planning, implementation and process evaluation phases.

Influência das crenças do enfermeiro na comunicação com o alcoolista

Alcoholism, one of the most frequent diseases in the world, has been transformed in a serious social problem and in Brazil, it has triplicated in the last decades. As nurses, we understand that alcoholics are sick people that need help and that communication is a fundamental method to achieve nursing intervention goals aiming at giving an adequate nursing care it is necessary to know the reasons why nurses have some adverse attitudes related to alcoholics. This inquietude led us to investigate the restraints that interfere in nurse-alcoholics communication, presented in national and international nursing literature reviewed through MEDLlNE and CEPEn catalogue. We observed that the alcoholics stereotype exist and remains constant through the time; the stereotype belief held by health professionals determines the quality of care the patient receives as well as the focus of research and attitudes presented about alcohol and alcoholics. Therefore, the belief would be presenting a negative influence and keeping hack the communication between nurse and the alcoholic.

VALORES DE PRESSÃO ARTERIAL EM TRABALHADORES DE UMA INSTITUIÇÃO UNIVERSITÁRIA

Fue realizado un estudio con los trabajadores de una Facultad de Enfermeria del Brasil, para identificar valores de presion arterial (PA). Los investigadores realizaron una revision de historias clinicas durante 18 meses. Los 51 trabajadores investigados presentaron 405 mediciones de PA, considerandose para el estudio, solamente aquellas realizadas con los sujetos en posicion sentada. Entre todas las categorias ocupacionales estudiadas, los vigilantes de los predios, los operadores de maquinas reprograficas y los choferes fueron los trabajadores que presentaron altos valores medios de PA, resultados coincidentes con la literatura consultada. Asimismo, cinco trabajadores estaban hipertensos, uno de ellos desconocia esta situacion. Los resultados evidencian la necesidad de profundizar investigaciones especificas relacionadas a categorias ocupacionales, particularmente en los ambientes universitariosThe present study was developed among workers from a Brazilian College of Nursing with the purpose of identifying the values of their blood pressure (BP). Data were collected from the records of these workers registered in a BP Program at the Unit. Among the 149 workers, the sample was formed by 51 of them. The values were measured in a standardized way and registered in records during 18 months. There were 405 measurements in the sitting position. Authors found out that among the occupational categories that were studied, the guards, Xerox machine operators and drivers had higher BP levels and these results are similar to the ones found in the literature. Also, 5 workers were hypertensive and one of them did not know about this situation. Findings showed the need to develop more specific research related to occupational categories, especially the ones from university fields.

Posicionamento de enfermeiras sobre ensino problematizador

Este artigo constitui a segunda parte de um estudo que tem por objetivo identificar e comparar os escores atribuidos pelas enfermeiras as proposicoes de curso problematizador antes e apos sua participacao em capacitacao pedagogica problematizadora. Os dados foram coletados atraves da aplicacao de um instrumento adaptado da escala Likert. Os resultados mostraram maior media apos a capacitacao pedagogica.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCE IN THE PREVENTION OF HIV/AIDS: VALIDATION OF AN INSTRUMENT

This study aimed at building and validating an instrument to measure the technical competence of educational actions developed by nurses in the prevention of HIV/AIDS in Basic Health Units (BHU). The phases for constructing and testing the fidelity of the instrument were: elaboration of items related to the technical competence in the prevention of HIV/AIDS; application of the instrument in a sample of 30 male nurses from different hospitals and teaching institutions. The instrument presented a satisfactory level of stability, homogeneity and reproduction.El estudio tuvo como objetivo construir y validar un instrumento para medir la competencia de las acciones educativas desarrolladas por el enfermero en la prevencion de HIV/AIDS en las unidades basicas de salud (UBS). Las etapas recorridas para la construccion y prueba de fidedignidad del instrumento, fueron: elaboracion de items relacionados con la competencia tecnica en la prevencion de HIV/AIDS; aplicacion del instrumento en una muestra de 30 enfermeros de diferentes instituciones hospitalarias y de ensenanza. El instrumento presento un nivel satisfactorio de estabilidad, homogeneidad y reproductibilidad.

Retrospectiva das publicações de pesquisas realizadas sobre educação em enfermagem: 1947-1981

A proposta deste estudo e verificar o espaco que o tema Educacao em Enfermagem enquanto objeto de investigacao ocupa no total das divulgacoes veiculadas pela Associacao Brasileira de Enfermagem - ABEn. As fontes de informacao utilizadas foram os Congressos Brasileiros de Enfermagem e a Revista Brasileira de Enfermagem, por julgarmos veiculos de informacoes confiaveis. Os autores utilizaram esse material para verificar o grau de interesse dos profissionais de enfermagem nesse objeto de pesquisa, desenvolvendo um levantamento retrospectivo dessas divulgacoes atraves dos mencionados congressos e revistas. O periodo analisado foi de 1947 a 1981. Como resultados parciais, de um total de 761 trabalhos divulgados nos congressos, 124 (16,29%) versam sobre o tema Educacao em Enfermagem, distribuidos nas mais diversas categorias, a saber: educacao formal, formacao do aluno, metodologia do ensino, formacao do professor, diversas disciplinas do curriculo de graduacao e integracao ensino-servico.
