This is a bibliographical study that aimed at pointing out the history of sexuality as well as its cultural, social and religious influences. A importância da saúde bucal para adolescentes de diferentes estratos sociais do município de Ribeirão Preto

The objective of the present study is to know the importance of buccal health for adolescents of different social strata, identifying the importance of dental aesthetics, and the care that these students take in relation to their buccal health. The methodological process adopted in this investigation is of qualitative nature, using as technique of collection of data the semi-structured interview. We know the importance of buccal health in several contexts of their lives, as in their personal appearance, sexuality, employment, and general health. This investigation allows us to know the motivations of adolescents to preserve their buccal health, and we believe to be so valid to develop health promotionh through health education.The objective of the present study is to know the importance of buccal health for adolescents of different social strata, identifying the importance of dental aesthetics, and the care that these students take in relation to their buccal health. Análise espacial da vulnerabilidade social da gravidez na adolescência

The purpose of this study was to present a spatial analysis of the social vulnerability of teenage pregnancy by geoprocessing data on births and deaths present on the Brazilian Ministry of Health databases in order to support intersectoral management actions and strategies based on spatial analysis in neighborhood areas. The thematic maps of the educational, occupational, birth and marital status of mothers, from all births and deaths in the city, presented a spatial correlation with teenage pregnancy. These maps were superimposed to produce social vulnerability map of adolescent pregnancy and women in general. This process presents itself as a powerful tool for the study of social vulnerability.

A produçäo do conhecimento sobre adolescência na enfermagem: período 1983 a 1996

Nos ultimos dez anos, a adolescencia tem sido objeto de estudo de diversos pesquisadores e considerada por Organizacoes Nacionais e Internacionais uma faixa etaria prioritaria para acoes de promocao, prevencao e protecao a saude. Varios fatores contribuiram para essa preocupacao com a adolescencia, entre eles podemos destacar a importância desse contingente populacional, que constitui 23% da populacao mundial, alem de questoes ligadas a gravidez precoce, a AIDS e as drogas. Como enfermeiras pesquisadoras, interessamo-nos por conhecer e caracterizar, quantitativa e qualitativamente, a producao cientifica sobre adolescencia em enfermagem, utilizando como fonte de coleta de dados periodicos nacionais especificos de enfermagem. Os dados obtidos nesse estudo nos mostram que a area da adolescencia ainda e pouco explorada pela enfermagem e os aspectos mais pesquisados sao os relacionados a sexualidade.In the last ten years adolescence has been object of study of many researchers and considered by National and International Organizations as an age band with priority to actions of promotion, prevention and protection. Many factors contributed to this concern with adolescence, between them, we can emphasize the importance of this populational contingent that represents 30% of world population, besides the questions of precocious pregnancy, AIDS and drugs. As nurse researchers, we are interested in experiencing and characterizing quantitatively and qualitatively the scientific production about adolescence in nursing, using as source of data collection the national specific nursing periodicals. Detecção de problemas visuais e auditivos de escolares em Ribeirão Preto: estudo comparativo por nível sócio-econômico

The evaluation of visual and auditive functions of students entering the first degree of elementary school is considered a basic action of the student health. The child, upon entering the elementary school, begins or continues learning the alphabet which is considered one of the most important process of the educational area. The child needs normal vision and hearing (or with adequate correction) to carry on this process in the easiest way. In this paper, we tried to study the visual and auditive problems in elementary school students in the city of Ribeirão Preto, from different social layers concerning early detection of cases and resolution of problems (or not) found by the family and school.A avaliacao das funcoes visuais e auditivas dos alunos ingressantes na 1a serie do 1o grau e considerada uma acao basica de saude do escolar. A crianca, ao ingressar na primeira serie, inicia (ou continua) o processo de alfabetizacao, considerado um dos mais importantes da area educacional e necessita portanto da visao e audicao normais (ou com correcao) para que esse processo seja facilitado. Neste trabalho, procuramos estudar os disturbios visuais e auditivos dos escolares de Ribeirao Preto, de diferentes estratos sociais, nos aspectos de deteccao precoce, encaminhamento dos casos e solucao ou nao, pela familia e escola, dos problemas encontrados.

EM BUSCA DA DEFINIÇÃO DE PAUTAS ATUAIS PARA O DELINEAMENTO DE ESTUDOS SOBRE A SAÚDE DA CRIANÇA E DO ADOLESCENTE EM IDADE ESCOLAR

This work is a reflection of the search for a definition of current guidelines for outlining studies on the assistance to the childs and school-age adolescents health based on current literature and on the discussion among professionals in the fields of Health and Education. The guidelines: Assistance to the childs and school-age adolescents health; Education, Health and Society - current historical transformation; Health, Education and Life Conditions lead to the following questions: how to promote the childs and school-age adolescents health within the principles of the Unified Health System (SUS) and how to deal with issues such as Health and Education in an inter-sectorial, multi-professional and interdisciplinary fashion by taking into account the New National Curricular Standards? Ocupações exercidas por adolescentes e sua relação com a participação escolar

RESUMO: Objetivos: Identificar las ocupaciones ejercidas por adolescentes participantes de un programa social de atencion para jovenes y evaluar su insercion en la escuela, despues de la entrada en el mundo del trabajo. METODOS: Estudio descriptivo, cuantitativo, realizado junto a un programa de apoyo y atencion a los jovenes, por medio del cual fueron entrevistados 437 jovenes trabajadores. RESULTADOS: La mayoria era del genero masculino (54%), con un promedio de edad de 16 anos, cursando la ensenanza media; trabajaban como office- boys (36,4%), auxiliares administrativos (25,4%), recepcionistas (16,0%) y en el estacionamiento rotativo (12,6%). El atraso escolar fue constatado en el 95,8% de los individuos, indicando un descompas entre la serie cursada y la edad cronologica; entre tanto, el desempeno en la escuela parecio no haber sido perjudicado por el trabajo. CONCLUSION: Se debe tener cautela al introducir al adolescente en el mercado de trabajo, pues aspectos como el cansancio, falta de tiempo para estudiar, entre otros, pueden ocasionar implicaciones en las actividades escolares. O PROGRAMA DE SAÚDE ESCOLAR NO MUNICÍPIO DE RIBEIRÃO PRETO

O presente artigo relata a trajetoria do Programa de Assistencia Primaria de Saude Escolar (PROASE) no municipio de Ribeirao Preto e traz algumas reflexoes sobre esta proposta.

Investigation concerning knowledge and contact with drugs among first grade students in private and public schools in the city of Ribeirão Preto

This study refers to an essay concerning knowledge and contact with drugs among students, first grade, in private and public schools in the city of Ribeirao Preto, in different social layers. Looking for a better understanding of our data, we decided to work in this empirical survey with the concept of social stratum: a group of person with determined measurable features in common, that is, common status and that can be defined by distinct criteria. Schools were sorted according to the kind of student they had: after, schools were divided in four groups and we drew lots of each school. We used a questionnaire to collect data with opened and closed questions. According to data obtained we concluded that all students, no matter what socio-economic level, have a superficial knowledge about the subject: 48,2% said they knew people addicted to drugs in their neighborhood, 8,8% of the children said they had offerings of drugs and the drugs were: cocaine, marijuana, haxixe, cigarettes and toxic pencil; and 63% of the remaining group said they never had an orientation related to drugs.

A experiência de ser mãe pela primeira vez após os 35 anos

RESUMO Objetivo: analisar a experiencia de mulheres que foram maes pela primeira vez apos os 35 anos de idade. Metodo: estudo descritivo, transversal, com abordagem qualitativa, com a participacao de 10 primiparas, no periodo de janeiro de 2013 a junho de 2014. Os dados foram obtidos em dois momentos: inicialmente foram coletados alguns dados relativos a mae junto aos prontuarios para caracterizacao socio demografica e obstetrica, complementados, caso necessario, durante a entrevista realizada num segundo momento, em visita domiciliaria. Para a entrevista foram elaboradas duas questoes norteadoras: “Fale-me como foi a sua experiencia de ser mae apos os 35 anos” e “Como foi a sua experiencia e de sua familia no cuidado ao recem-nascido”. Resultados: a maioria das maes encontrava-se na faixa etaria entre 35-37 anos, era casada, possuia ensino medio e renda salarial de um a seis salarios minimos. Os nascimentos foram de feto unico e todas iniciaram o pre-natal no primeiro trimestre, sendo submetidas a mais de dez consultas. Os principais fatores de risco enfrentados na gestacao foram a hipertensao e o diabetes gestacional e todas foram submetidas a cesariana. O motivo mais apontado para adiar a maternidade foi a espera por estabilidade financeira. Consideracoes finais: o estudo possibilitou o conhecimento da realidade das primiparas que, mesmo enfrentando dificuldades e problemas com a gestacao, relataram satisfacao em serem maes, reafirmando o momento como oportuno para a chegada do primeiro filho e felicidade em realizar este sonho. Reforca a necessidade de maior preocupacao com a primeira gestacao em mulheres com mais de 35 anos, devendo esta ser considerada como resultante de mudancas socio demograficas e do progresso da medicina.
