Studies on alkylheteroaromatic compounds: the reactivity of alkyl polyfunctionally substituted azines towards electrophilic reagents

Abstract Several new alkylpyridine, pyridazine and pyrimidine derivatives are synthesized from acyclic intermediates. The reactivity of these alkylazines towards aromatic aldehydes and arylidenemalononitrile is reported. New synthesis for substituted phthalazines cinnolines and quinazolines could be achieved.

Nitriles in organic synthesis: The reaction of trichloroacetonitrile with active methylene reagents

The reaction of trichloroacetonitrile with active methylene reagents such as acetylacetone, benzoylacetone, cyanoacetamide and cyanoacethydrazide is reported. A new simple route for the synthesis of polysubstituted phenols, pyrazoles and pyrroles is also described.ZusammenfassungEs wird über die Reaktionen von Trichloracetonitril mit aktiven Methylen-Reagentien wie Acetylaceton, Benzoylaceton, Cyanacetamid und Cyanacethydrazid berichtet. Ein neuer einfacher Weg für die Synthese polysubstituierter Phenole, Pyrazole und Pyrrole wird beschrieben.

Studies on 3,5-diaminopyrazole derivatives

The behaviour of 3,5-diamino-4-phenylazopyrazole toward a variety of reagents is reported. Several new 3,5-diaminopyrazole derivatives as well as amino derivatives of fused pyrazoles have been prepared.ZusammenfassungEs wird über das Verhalten von 3,5-Diamino-4-phenylazopyrazol gegenüber verschiedenen Agentien berichtet. Es wurden sowohl einige neue 3,5-Diaminooyrazol-Derivate als auch einige Aminoderivate von kondensierten Pyrazolen dargestellt.

Nitriles in Heterocyclic Synthesis: New Approaches for Synthesis of Some Pyridine Derivatives

Abstract A variety of pyridines was prepared from reaction of N-benzylidenecyanoethanoic hydrazide (2) with malononitrile, benzoylacetonitrile, cyanoacetamide and cinnamonitrile derivatives. The reactivity of 2 towards a variety of ketones was studied.

Studies on Heterocyclic Enamines: New Synthesis of Pyrano[2,3-b]pyndine, Pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine and Pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole Derivatives

Abstract A variety of novel pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidines could be obtained via reaction of ethyl 2-amino- 3-cyano-6-methylpyran-4-carboxylate with a variety of reagents. Evidence for the existance of this pyran derivative as a ring chain tautom er is presented.
