O Transplante renal sob a ótica de crianças portadoras de insuficiência renal crônica em tratamento dialítico: estudo de caso

INTRODUCAO: Para compreender quais sao as implicacoes da doenca cronica para a crianca e seus familiares e necessario partir-se da premissa de que a doenca cronica nao pode ser curada e que a cura almejada pode se transformar em mito perigoso, que compromete todo o processo de desenvolvimento da crianca. OBJETIVOS: Compreender o significado do transplante renal para criancas em tratamento dialitico e conhecer suas expectativas em relacao a este tratamento. METODO: Estudo qualitativo, utilizando o Estudo de Caso como metodo de investigacao e os pressupostos de Mayeroff como referencial teorico-filosofico. Para coleta de dados foram utilizadas as tecnicas de entrevista semi-estruturada e o Desenho-Estoria com tema. Foram entrevistadas 15 criancas em tratamento dialitico e hemodialitico, com idades entre 6 e 16 anos que consentiram em participar do estudo RESULTADO: Da analise de conteudo emergiram quatro categorias: Construindo o conhecimento sobre o transplante; Buscando entender a espera pelo transplante; Criando expectativas de mudancas; Em contato com a frustracao. E do desenho-estoria com tema a categoria: Desvelando os sentimentos atraves do desenho. Neste artigo apresentaremos os resultados referentes as questoes semi-estruturadas que emergiram das falas dos sujeitos. CONCLUSAO: O estudo possibilitou compreender que as criancas percebem a realizacao do transplante renal como a unica possibilidade de voltarem a vivenciar uma vida normal.

Projeto de extensão universitária: um espaço para formação profissional e promoção da saúde

This article covers the theoretical and practical aspects involved in a Federal University of Sao Paulo (Unifesp) extension project called Corporality and Health Promotion, the main purpose of which is to articulate actions in the fields of teaching, assistance, and research. This project is aimed at providing undergraduate and graduate students learning and experience opportunities in the field of health education with adolescents; providing the elaboration of teaching technologies that will be used to guide adolescents in the theme; undertake educational activities among students, teenagers and young people who attend social projects and public schools; develop research projects among the services that will revert to new teaching, intervention, and know-ledge generation practices. The project is carried out in the health promotion field, by means of actions that emphasize issues related to the body and to sexuality and aimed at teenagers and young people who attend elementary and high schools in Embu, State of Sao Paulo.

Oficina de autoexame de mamas: uma estratégia para o autoconhecimento de adolescentes

OBJECTIVES: To verify the repercussions of knowledge transmitted through a breast self-examination workshop, and identify the multiplication of information by adolescent participants. METHODS: This was a quantitative survey-type study, conducted with 474 adolescents from three elementary and middle schools in the municipality of Embu das Artes, in 2006 and 2007. RESULTS: Data from structured and semistructured questions, answered by the participants, showed the frequencies of responses above 50% about the “repercussions of the content of the workshop” and below 50% [...]Objectives: To verify the repercussions of knowledge transmitted through a breast self-examination workshop, and identify the multiplication of information by adolescent participants. Methods: This was a quantitative survey-type study, conducted with 474 adolescents from three elementary and middle schools in the municipality of Embu das Artes, in 2006 and 2007. Results: Data from structured and semistructured questions, answered by the participants, showed the frequencies of responses above 50% about the “repercussions of the content of the workshop” and below 50% on the “multiplied actions”. Conclusion: The workshop helps to elaborate the concept of the adolescents themselves about their bodies, informs about breast cancer and the benefits of adopting healthy attitudes and practices in their daily lives, using the technique of breast self-examination as an pedagogical instrument.

Avaliação de funções psicomotoras de crianças entre 6 e 10 anos de idade

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate psychomotor functions in 86 children, ages six to ten years old, male or female who were enrolled in elementary education in one institution in the south region of the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. METHODS: This was a descriptive study that used a structured instrument to gather data on the following functions: motor (fine and gross); perception; corporal posture and balance corporal; space adaptation; visual and tactile memory; right and left discriminations; writing; rhythm; and concentration; and lateral dominance. RESULTS: The majority of children were able to carry out fine motor activities without difficulty. Only one group presented immaturity to carry out those fine motor activities. All groups demonstrated good performance regarding: gross motor coordination, posture and balance corporal, visual and tactile memory, and spontaneous rhythm. However, some children had difficulty in space adaptation and spatial orientation, codified rhythm; and writing due to the irregular size of the graphical forms. Uso de videoconferência para discussão de temas sobre gestão de enfermagem em hospitais universitários

O presente estudio relata la experiencia de la creacion de un proyecto basado en tecnologia de videoconferencia, con la finalidad posibilitar la discusion de temas relacionados con la gestion de enfermeria en hospitales universitarios del pais. El estudio describe la Red Universitaria de Telemedicina del Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnologia en sociedad con el Ministerio de la Educacion, que son los autores de proyectos que subsidian la infraestructura para la realizacion de videoconferencias, con el objetivo de ofrecer intercambio de experiencias relevantes entre los hospitales de ensenanza. Los profesionales de la Direccion de Enfermeria del Hospital Sao Paulo vienen utilizando recursos de telemedicina desde hace 2 anos, con la finalidad de discutir aspectos administrativos, humanos y tecnicos de la enfermeria hospitalaria. Esta iniciativa viene presentando buenos resultados en relacion a la participacion y asiduidad de los enfermeros usuarios.This study reports the experience of creating a project based on videoconferencing technology to discuss topics related to nursing management in university hospitals in the country. The study describes the Telemedicine University Network of the Science and Technology Ministry in partnership with the Ministry of Education, authors of projects that subsidize the infrastructure for videoconferencing, aiming at offering relevant experiences among teaching hospitals. The nursing professionals in the Sao Paulo Hospital have used the telemedicine resources in the last 2 years, to discuss administrative issues and human and technical aspects of nursing in the hospital. This initiative has been showing good results regarding the regular involvement and assiduity of nurses and users.

The meaning of neutropenia and homecare needs according to caregivers of children with cancer

This study aimed to understand the meanings caregivers attributed to the process of caring for a neutropenic child at home and know their needs for orientation related to care for these children. This descriptive study was carried out at the Pediatric Oncology Institute through semi-structured interviews, involving eleven caregivers. Data were organized according to the content analysis technique and interpreted according to Social Representations theory. Results indicate changes in the physical environment, people and human relationships, evidencing crises and transition towards stability. The following care procedures raised doubts: hyperthermia, body, food and environmental hygiene, risks of interpersonal contact and special care. The conclusion is that caregivers need technical and emotional preparedness to cope with the reported difficulties, including aggravating situations.Este estudio tuvo como objetivo comprender los significados atribuidos por los cuidadores al proceso de cuidarde un nino neutropenico, en su domicilio, y conocer las necesidades de orientaciones para el cuidado de esosninos. Es un estudio descriptivo, realizado en el Instituto de Oncologia Pediatrica, con once cuidadores, utilizandoentrevista semiestruturada. Los datos fueron organizados segun la tecnica de analisis de contenido e interpretadosbajo el marco teorico de las Representaciones Sociales. Los resultados indican cambios en el ambiente fisico,en las personas y en las relaciones humanas, evidenciando fases de crisis y de transicion para obtener laestabilidad. Los cuidados que generaron dudas fueron: hipertermia, higiene corporal, del ambiente y de losalimentos, riesgos de contacto interpersonal y cuidados especiales.
