This article deals with a subproject of the Project for Evaluation of the CAPS psychosocial care centers (CAPS) in the southern region of Brazil, whose purpose was to learn how the professionals of a substitute service feel about of the mental care delivered there. The study was conducted in a CAPS II using a qualitative approach. Data were collected in interviews. The data were classified into three thematic groups and analyzed according to the available literature. In this article we will approach the understanding of the professionals about the care services offered in the CAPS. The results show that for these professionals care involves more than the biological aspects, including the family and society. We perceive that the team is extending its perception of mental health, when considering psychosocial rehabilitation the most important aspect.

The present study integrates an evaluative analysis of the Expansion and Consolidation Program of Family Health and consists of a study of qualitative approach, developed in one large municipal in Brazil. In this article we attempt to present a description of the process of qualitative evaluation of the integrality regarding the management of health care in a municipal district. We used semi-structured interviews with 10 representatives of the municipal administration, structured interviews with the representative of Municipal Council of Health, and a solemnity-applied questionnaire to the Municipal Secretary of Health as instruments. We verified that the Program amplified access, liberating a repressed demand. However, this implies an increase of expenses and of the challenge of enlarging the communication and resolvability of the services.

ABTRACT: This descriptive study aimed to identify the childbirth care practices developed by health professionals towards adolescent parturients. Data were collected from the database of the study “Humanizing Childbirth Care in Adolescents”, developed in the city of Pelotas-RS, by means of semi-structured interviews, between 2008 and 2009. The study population consisted of health workers from the obstetric center of a public teaching hospital. The analysis was systematized as per the guide Care in Normal Birth, published by the World Health Organization. Results evidenced that useful practices, such as intimacy and privacy, choice of the type of childbirth and breastfeeding encouragement are not respected. The harmful practices that stood out were the use of the lithotomy position and oxytocin. Examples of practices that are frequently developed inappropriately are food restriction and the use of amniotomy. In conclusion, childbirth care practices partially complied with the Humanizing Labor and Childbirth Policy. DESCRIPTORS: Adolescent. Women’s health. Humanizing childbirth. | Context: Despite the health protection provided by the skin and appendages, there are factors that can affect this organ, causing major skin injuries. Among such factors are the occupational ones. Objective: To describe the prevalence and to analyze the factors associated with generally self‐reported skin problems caused by work. Methods: This cross‐sectional study interviewed workers from an agricultural company in Southern Brazil. The research instrument was a semi‐structured questionnaire containing opened and closed questions. Results: Out of the 326 employees in the company, 273 (83.8%) were interviewed. A prevalence of skin disorders of 15.2% was found. There was a greater occurrence of skin problems in men (16.8%), who were aged between 41 and 50 years (20.3%). These problems were associated with occupational exposures, especially to dust. Conclusion: It can be concluded that environmental risk management is important, as it may be associated with the occurrence of work‐related skin problems.

This is an excerpt from a dissertation which sought to investigate the meaning of gift theory among groups of users of crack and of other drugs within the scenarios of use. The study has an ethnographic approach; participants were 13 persons who made use of crack and other drugs in the scenarios of use in the Municipality of Pelotas in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, and the observations were made in 2013. The results evidenced that the users are victims of prejudice, but maintain the gift in their relationships and seek to help each other and show solidarity as a group. It was possible to share and demystify a highly specific and invisible way of life of the crack users; however, the changes will only begin to appear when more efficacious means of approach are found, with health policies for promoting closeness and links with this population, providing, above all, embracement of their needs, which at many times appeared to be neglected. Tiene abordaje etnográfico y ocurrió con 13 personas que usaban crack u otras drogas en los escenarios de uso en Pelotas-RS. Las observaciones fueron realizadas en el año de 2013. Introduction: Alcoholism has been a major concern of public health worldwide. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 76.3 million people presented problems of alcohol abuse in 2004. Therefore, the risks arising from the association of psychiatric disorders with alcohol consumption should also be considered in the context of mental health services. Objective: This study aimed to analyze alcohol consumption by the users of Therapeutic Residential Services - SRT and Psychosocial Care Centers - CAPS in five municipalities in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Methodology: The present study is part of a research entitled Rehabilitation Networks - REDESUL, carried out from September to December 2009 in five municipalities of the aforementioned Brazilian state. The total sample comprised 392 users: 143 from the SRT and 270 from the CAPS services, with intersection of 21 members. Results: The results showed that of the 392 care service users, only 29 had consumed alcohol during the four weeks prior to the survey. The majority of these 29 users were between 31 and 59 years
