Protocolo de preparo da criança pré-escolar para punção venosa, com utilização do brinquedo terapêutico

Este trabalho, do tipo exploratorio descritivo, consiste na elaboracao de um protocolo utilizando brinquedo terapeutico para preparar criancas pre-escolares que seriam submetidas a puncao venosa, assim como testa-lo em algumas criancas para verificar sua aplicabilidade e eficiencia. As criancas submetidas a sessao do brinquedo, tornaram-se mais cooperativas durante a puncao venosa; compreenderam a necessidade e a tecnica dos procedimentos; exteriorizaram sentimentos; elaboraram situacoes familiares e hospitalares, passando a relacionar-se melhor com as outras criancas e com a equipe de enfermagem. Consideramos que este protocolo e factivel e util; sugerimos que integre o plano de assistencia de enfermagem a criancas hospitalizadas.This exploratory-descriptive study aims at elaborating a protocol, using therapeutic play, for the preparation of preschool children to venous puncture and also at testing its efficiency and applicability. The children that attended the play session were more cooperative when they were punctured. They understood the need and technical aspects of this clinical procedure; manifested their feelings, elaborated familiar and hospital situations that resulted in a better relationship with the other children and the nursing team. Authors concluded that this protocol is feasible and useful and suggested that it should be incorporated in the nursing care plan to hospitalized children.

O significado da hospitalização para a criança pré-escolar: um modelo teórico

This study was aimed at comprehending the meaning of being hospitalized for pre-school children. The theoretical references were the Symbolic Interactionism and Vygotskys theory on the childs symbolic play. The methodological referential was the Theory Based on Data. Eleven children between the ages of 3 and 6 took part in the survey. The strategies for data collection were: participative observation, interviews with the children mediated by the Therapeutic Toy, and interviews with the mothers. The analysis of the data made possible the construction of the technical model Growing up with the mothers protective presence, which puts in evidence the vulnerability, the childs force and the protection given by the mother to face the mystery and the fear of hospitalization.En este estudio se tuvo como objetivo comprender el significado que tiene para un nino pre-escolar, estar hospitalizado. Los referenciales teoricos fueron el Interaccionismo Simbolico y la teoria de Vygotsky sobre el juego simbolico del nino y el referencial metodologico fue la Teoria Fundamentada en los Datos. Participaron del mismo 11 ninos de tres a seis anos de edad. Las estrategias de recoleccion de datos fueron: observacion participante, entrevista con los ninos, mediado por el Juguete Terapeutico y entrevista con las madres. El analisis de los datos permitio construir el modelo teorico Creciendo con la presencia protectora de la madre, que evidencia la vulnerabilidad, la fuerza del nino y la proteccion recibida de la madre, para enfrentar el misterio y el terror de la hospitalizacion.

Consulta de enfermagem em puericultura: a vivência do enfermeiro na Estratégia de Saúde da Família

The objective of this study was to understand the meaning that the nurses working in the Family Health Strategy assign to the nursing consultation in child care. The theoretical framework was Symbolic Interactionism, and the methodological was the Grounded Theory. Data collection was performed with seven nurses by means of a semi-structured interview and participant observation. The comparative data analysis identified the conceptual category: Promoting individual and collective changes by means of comprehensive care. It was found that nurses value the nursing consultation in child care, they consider it important and acknowledge its potential to promote significant comprehensive changes regarding children, their families, and in the context of the community, in the preventive as well as in the curative aspect, and thus they feel fulfilled. Nevertheless, nurses deal with personal and structural difficulties, and are affected by the beliefs, values and social conditions of the assisted population, and, therefore, recognize they need better preparation to perform this activity.The objective of this study was to understand the meaning that the nurses working in the Family Health Strategy assign to the nursing consultation in child care. Procurando manter o equilíbrio para atender suas demandas e cuidar da criança hospitalizada: a experiência da família

The purposes of this qualitative study were to understand the meaning of the interactions experienced by the family during a childs hospitalization, identify the familys demands and construct a theoretical model representing this experience. Symbolic Interactionism was adopted as a theoretical and Grounded Theory as a methodological reference framework. Data were collected by means of observation and interviews with five families of children hospitalized due to acute disease with a good prognosis. The analysis identified two interactive phenomena: losing control of the functioning, which expresses the situations experienced by the families, which generate demands; and seeking a new functioning rhythm, which shows the strategies the family undertakes to take care of the hospitalized child and maintain its functioning. The identification of the central category and the construction of the Theoretical Model represent the meaning of the experience for families during the hospitalization of one of their children.Este estudo de natureza qualitativa teve como objetivo compreender o significado das interacoes vivenciadas pela familia durante a hospitalizacao de uma crianca de seu nucleo, identificar as demandas da familia e construir um modelo teorico representativo dessa experiencia. O Interacionismo Simbolico foi adotado como referencial teorico e a Teoria Fundamentada nos Dados como referencial metodologico. Os dados foram coletados por meio de observacao e entrevistas com cinco familias de criancas hospitalizadas por afeccao aguda de bom prognostico. A analise identificou dois fenomenos interativos: perdendo o controle sobre o seu funcionamento expressa as situacoes vivenciadas pelas familias que sao geradoras de demanda e buscando um novo ritmo de funcionamento, demonstra as estrategias empreendidas pela familia para cuidar da crianca hospitalizada e manter seu funcionamento. A identificacao da categoria central e a construcao do Modelo Teorico representam o significado da experiencia para a familia na hospitalizacao de uma de suas criancas.

Tentando readquirir o controle: a vivência do pré-escolar no pós-operatório de postectomia

Este estudo foi realizado com meninos de 3 a 6 anos de idade, submetidos a cirurgia de postectomia, com os objetivos de compreender o significado das interacoes vivenciadas por eles ante o pos-operatorio de postectomia e identificar as suas estrategias enquanto vivenciam a experiencia cirurgica. O referencial teorico utilizado foi o Interacionismo Simbolico e, o metodologico, a Teoria Fundamentada nos Dados. Devido as caracteristicas de desenvolvimento verbal desses meninos, a entrevista com eles foi intermediada pelo brinquedo terapeutico; suas maes tambem foram entrevistadas na qualidade de informantes da experiencia de seus filhos. Os dados foram analisados ate a fase de categorizacao dos significados, permitindo a emergencia da categoria conceitual: Tentando Readquirir o Controle. A compreensao dessa experiencia oferece subsidios importantes para o repensar a assistencia de enfermagem ao menino que vivencia a postectomia e a sua familia.This study was carried out with 3 to 6 year-old boys undergoing circumcision, with a view to understanding the meaning of the interactions they experienced them during the post-operative period as well as identifying their strategies while experiencing the surgery. Symbolic Interactionism was used as a theoretical reference framework, and Grounded Theory as a methodological framework. Due to these childrens verbal development characteristics, the interview was mediated by therapeutic play. Their mothers were also interviewed as informers of their childrens experience. Data were analyzed up to the point of categorization of the meanings, revealing the following category of concepts: Trying to regain control. Understanding the whole experience offers important elements to rethink nursing care to preschool boy who undergo circumcision, as well as to his family.

Utilização do brinquedo terapêutico, como um instrumento de intervenção de enfermagem, no preparo de crianças submetidas a coleta de sangue

This study is almost an experiment with the objective to verify the effect of the Therapeutic Play on preschool children during blood collect for laboratory tests. The sample consisted of 42 children divided into control and experimental groups. All the children had their behavior observed and only the children of the experimental group were prepared for the Therapeutic Play. The results were analyzed comparing the childrens behavior with the groups and showed that arrangement with the Therapeutic Play was effective in the comprehension of the procedure and in the control of their behavioral reactions.This study is almost an experiment with the objective to verify the effect of the Therapeutic Play on preschool children during blood collect for laboratory tests. A amostra constituiu-se de 42 criancas divididas nos grupos controle e experimental. Todas as criancas tiveram seu comportamento observado, sendo apenas as do grupo experimental preparadas com o uso do Brinquedo Terapeutico. Os resultados foram analisados comparando-se o comportamento das criancas dos dois grupos e demonstraram que o preparo com o Brinquedo Terapeutico foi eficaz na compreensao do procedimento e no controle de suas reacoes comportamentais.

Cuidado centrado na família e sua aplicação na enfermagem pediátrica

Family-centered care is a challenge for nursing area, although the home care was described in the professional history since its origins. The definition of this approach, its principles and the discussion about its application in pediatric nursing are described in the text aiming to lead to a reflection about the possibilities of family care, by means of attention to the individual and to the family unit. Among the several areas, the pediatric nursing is highlighted with researches and the development of theoretical assumptions.El cuidado centrado en la familia tiene representado un desafio para el area de enfermeria, a pesar de los cuidados domiciliares ya tengan sido descriptos desde sus origenes en la historia de la profesion. La definicion de este abordaje, sus principios y la discusion de su aplicacion en la enfermeria pediatrica estan descriptos en el texto con el objetivo de reflexionar acerca de las posibilidades de cuidado a la familia por medio de atencion al individuo y a la unidad familiar. De entre las distintas areas, la enfermeria pediatrica viene destacandose con pesquisas y desarrollo de los presupuestos teoricos.

The meaning of interaction between nursing professionals and newborns/families in a hospital setting

This study aimed to understand the meaning of the nursing team’s communication with newborns and families during care delivered in a neonatal unit and also to develop a theoretical model. Symbolic Interactionism and Hargie’s model were used as theoretical and Grounded theory as the methodological reference framework. The study was carried out at the nursery of a hospital in Sao Paulo, SP, Brazil. The study sample was composed of three nurses and four nursing auxiliaries. The theoretical model Being mediated by the strength of motivation was based on findings and revealed the role the nursing professionals’ motivation played during interactions with newborns and families. The conclusion is that more humanized interactions with newborns and families result from the nursing professionals’ motivation.

Understanding nurses' awareness as to the use of therapeutic play in child care

Este estudo objetivou compreender como ocorre a sensibilizacao do enfermeiro para o uso do brinquedo terapeutico como instrumento de intervencao de enfermagem. O referencial teorico foi o Interacionismo Simbolico e o metodologico, alem do Interacionismo Interpretativo. Participaram sete enfermeiras que atuavam em unidades pediatricas hospitalares e ambulatoriais, incluindo o brinquedo terapeutico em sua pratica. Emergiram quatro temas representativos: ampliando seu olhar para a pessoa da crianca, encantando-se com uma nova possibilidade de cuidar, percebendo sua acao revalidada e comprometendo-se com o desenvolvimento da tematica. Estes revelaram que, ao conhecer o brinquedo terapeutico e utiliza-lo na assistencia, a enfermeira inicia um caminhar no qual constata os beneficios dessa intervencao, o que revalida cada vez mais sua acao, passando a valoriza-lo como instrumento de intervencao de enfermagem. Os autores consideram que ensinar sobre o brinquedo e integra-lo a assistencia sao desafios que ainda necessitam ser superados.
