No Brasil, nos anos finais do seculo XIX, como nas primeiras decadas do XX, e possivel evidenciar aproximacoes com os modelos internacionais nos mais diversos campos: economico, social, politico, cultural, educacional. Considerando que muitos intelectuais de Pelotas tiveram um papel ativo na divulgacao de um ideario educacional na cidade, tem-se como objetivo neste texto discutir os itinerarios de formacao desses intelectuais, as redes de sociabilidades que engendraram suas projecoes, bem como a influencia que receberam de autores uruguaios. Cabe salientar que, pautados no campo da historia da educacao, compreende-se como intelectual o sujeito que das mais variadas formas preocupava-se em divulgar, discutir e propor projetos educacionais, seja por meio de redes de sociabilidades, seja por conferencias, cursos, artigos jornalisticos. Para tanto, foram pesquisados elementos das trajetorias desses intelectuais a partir do acesso de diversos exemplares que compunham seus acervos.

This paper aims to discuss how the educational mission sent to Uruguay by the governor of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Antonio Augusto Borges de Medeiros, was addressed by the local press. To this end, the issues of the years 1913 and 1914 of two newspapers were taken for analysis: A Federacao and Correio do Povo. Results showed an interest of government authorities in reporting through such newspapers the ongoing educational mission sent to the neighboring country. Apart from the interest of the real possibility of leveraging education in the State, the Republican government also sought to sell the image of a modern and efficient administration, concerned with the direction to be taken by the State.

universalizacao do processo de ensino e aprendizagem no mundo ocidental, seculo 18 e 19, centrou-se fundamentalmente na leitura, na escrita e na aritmetica. No caso da primeira, a mesma aconteceu, de modo especial, sustentada em textos biblicos e em manuais de fundo moral. Particularmente estes ultimos tiveram especial importância nos periodos historicos de predominância de politicas seculares em que prevaleciam, de forma hegemonica, conteudos, se nao ostensivamente anticlericais, escritos que tentavam impor uma etica e uma moral claramente laicas. No seculo 19, no contexto educacional brasileiro, o reconhecimento do que poderiamos designar como livro didatico era difuso e, em diversos casos, problematico.

O presente artigo tem como objetivo relatar aspectos do processo de consolidacao do Centro de Documentacao - Cedoc - parte constitutiva do Centro de Estudos e Investigacoes em Historia da Educacao - Ceihe -, particularmente sob o ponto de vista do trabalho de constituicao de sua identidade visual. Para alem do simples fato de preservacao da memoria da escolarizacao centrada nos documentos oficiais - leis, decretos, legislacao -, assim como das reformas de ensino, ou do pensamento pedagogico temos o papel, como centro de documentacao, de nos preocuparmos com a diversidade de fontes e memorias que podem subsidiar futuras investigacoes por parte dos historiadores da educacao.

EnglishThis work will analyze an elaborated proposal, in the beginning of the 19th century, by pe. Diogo Feijo, which had the uniqueness of presenting a common educational project throughout Brazil, during the Additional Act of 1834’s full validity period. Feijo’s pioneering spirit is evidenced not only by the attempt of setting up a common education in all the national territory, but also, by the circular basis’ nature which favored some very controversial aspects, for that time, among which, the effective process of laicization of education and the circular basis based on exact sciences stand out. Furthermore, it also draws attention, amid other aspects, for having been proposed in full validity of the system of ecclesiastical patronage and for having been suggested by a cleric. portuguesNeste trabalho analisamos uma proposta elaborada, no inicio do seculo 19, pelo padre Diogo Feijo, que apresentou um projeto de educacao comum para todo o Brasil, em plena validade do Ato Adicional de 1834. O carater de pioneirismo de Feijo e evidenciado nao somente pela tentativa de implantar uma educacao comum em todo o territorio nacional mas, tambem, pela natureza da base curricular que privilegiava aspectos bastante controversos para a epoca, dentre os quais se destacam a implantacao de um processo de laicizacao do ensino e de uma base curricular baseada nas ciencias exatas. Ademais, tambem chama a atencao, entre outros aspectos, por ser proposto em plena vigencia do sistema de padroado e ainda por ser sugerido por um clerigo.

This paper aims to analyze some similar aspects of social pedagogy, focused on education for work, of Anton Makarenko, and Moisey Semionovitch Mikhaylovich Pistrak. The first one acted at Gorky Colony in Kharkov and Poltava(Ukraine), and the second one at Lepechinski School in Moscow (Russia). In this sense, we present the following questions guiding this work: how was the education for work of each of these educators? What factors encouraged these pedagogical perspectives? What reflections such experiences allow us to have? These are the elements that will be examined in this article. The means chosen to approach these questions were the bibliographical research, as well as the content analysis.

The text exposes the argument of the strategies which are devised by children between five and six years old studying at the ‘Colegio Sao Jose’ Children’s Education, city of Pelotas/RS. They search for the adequate meaning of time in their daily lives. This involves the understanding of the physical and subjective time, as well as the time built in a social context, in an effort to assess the logic by which the solutions are formed from the children’s perspective, via a study utilizing photographs taking place at historical city squares/parks, thus establishing an analogy between the past and the present, and the stories that follow.

The 19th century inaugurates comparative studies. Tocqueville was a comparatist and situated himself at the different levels of social reality – from the micro to macro elements, in order to finally integrate these elements in a global relation. He is considered a pioneer as well as a classic of comparative sociology. In the areas of education and history of education the work of Tocqueville is significant for the studies of comparative education. This essay presents the author and his work, and analyzes some key concepts for the understanding of the history of education in the 19th century, i.e., for the consolidation of a project of public education – universal, gratis, mandatory, lay education for all, in which the state takes on the role of the educator, trying to govern the spirits by words and forms, especially through the school.
