Gravidez na adolescência: motivos e percepções de adolescentes

This research encompasses the capital Aracaju, Sergipe, and its surroundings health districts. It was dealt from October to December 2002 with 216 pregnant adolescents assisted by the Strategy of the Family Health Program. Its main goal is to raise and identify the social-demographic and the gynecological profile of those young ladies, by identifying the reason which led them to pregnancy and by knowing their pereption of it. The vast majority of them are 17, colored, literate, house-wives who have one single steady partner and survive with less than the minimum wage. Among those 32.4% got their first period by the age of 12; 25% had their first sexual intercourse by the age of 16; anf 72.7% had their first gestation. The reason which stood out from the others was the will to become a mother, for their perception towards pregnancy is related to happiness and personal achievement.This research encompasses the capital Aracaju, Sergipe, and its surroundings health districts. O movimento pela qualidade nos serviços de saúde e enfermagem

Literature review about quality in healthcare and nursing services. It describes the trajectory of a worldwide movement toward quality and its insertion in the health services, based on the theoretical referential of Donabedian, approaching nursing care systematization as a basis for the quality that is delivered to the users.Revison de la literatura sobre la calidad en servicios de salud y enfermeria. História da evolução da qualidade hospitalar: dos padrões a acreditação

This work contemplates the literature revision of Quality Standardization and the evaluation process by means of Hospital Accreditation literature. A historic resume have been worked out, about the beginnings of quality evaluation within the health services, from the Hospital Standardization Program, elaborated by the American Surgeons College, in the middle of 1924, to the creation of ONA - National Accreditation Organization, who has as main goals the installation and implementation of a health assistance permanent improvement process, thus stimulating the services to reach higher quality standards. After a reflection exercise, it was considered that, in the evaluation of services, its necessary to seek a higher value of the assistentials results, as well as the elaboration of more equanimous patterns in the structure, processes and results of the assistential quality.This work contemplates the literature revision of Quality Standardization and the evaluation process by means of Hospital Accreditation literature. Liderança no contexto da enfermagem

Leadership is one of the most indispensable tools for nursing work. This study is aimed at making a bibliographical survey about leadership in the nursing context and characterizing the scientific production on the topic based on year and place of publication and theme categorization. An online literature review, carried out using LILACS data, considered periodical material, dissertations and theses available in Portuguese and Spanish from the past twenty years. From the 31 selected works, 17 (54.8%) have been published in international nursing magazines, 10 (32.2%) have been published in Brazilian nursing periodicals, 3 (9.8%) were Masters Degree theses, and one (3.2%) was a teaching thesis, with publication concentrated between 1997 and 1998 (22.6%). When categorizing the references, the numbers were: 14 (45.2%) dealt with nurse leadership styles, 15 (48.5%) were reflections upon leadership, and 2 (6.4%) discussed leadership and communication.Leadership is one of the most indispensable tools for nursing work. Perspectivas atuais da Informática em Enfermagem

Nursing Informatics is the area of knowledge that studies the application of technological resources in teaching, in practice, in care, and in the management of care. Resources such as voice recognition, knowledge base, genoma project and even Internet have offered to Nursing a gama of possibilities for a better professional performance and better nursing care to the patient/client. This text reports and exemplifies how these resources are impacting and presenting new oportunities for teaching, research and specially for nursing care, still warns for the importance of humanized care in a high-tech scenario.Nursing Informatics is the area of knowledge that studies the application of technological resources in teaching, in practice, in care, and in the management of care. Identificação dos critérios de avaliação de resultados do serviço de enfermagem nos programas de acreditação hospitalar

The quality is already a part of daily reality in hospital organizations. Care is assessed through the organizational structures, work processes and obtained results. The goal was to identify the result evaluation criteria applied to the nursing service, used in accreditation programs, and to classify them in administrative, care and teaching/research activities. We carried out an exploratory, descriptive and quantitative study. Data were collected from 7 companies accredited by the National Accrediting Organization. These sent us 8 models, divided into groups A, B and C. Group A: models that use the manual; group B: models to which criteria were added; and group C: proper models. We identified 24 criteria: 13 administrative, 06 for care processes and 05 for teaching/research. Nursing services are evaluated with prominence to the administrative area, indicating that the other areas need to be reevaluated in terms of qualitative and quantitative aspects, in order to obtain more precise measurements.La calidad ya hace parte del cotidiano de las organizaciones hospitalarias. Para evaluar la atencion, severifican las estructuras organizacionales, los procesos de trabajo y los resultados obtenidos. La finalidad fueidentificar los criterios de evaluacion de resultado aplicados al servicio de enfermeria utilizados en los programasde acreditacion, y clasificarlos en las areas administrativa, asistencial y ensenanza/investigacion. Fue llevadoa cabo un estudio exploratorio, descriptivo y cuantitativo. Los datos fueron recolectados de 7 empresasacreditadas por la Organizacion Nacional de Acreditacion, que mandaron 8 modelos que fueron divididos en losgrupos A, B e C. Grupo A: modelos que usan el manual; grupo B: modelos a los cuales fueron anadidoscriterios; y grupo C: modelos propios. Identificamos a 24 criterios: 13 administrativos, 06 de procesosasistenciales, y 05 de ensenanza/investigacion. Se observo que el servicio de enfermeria es evaluado conenfasis en el area administrativa, indicando que las demas areas necesitan de una reevaluacion en los aspectoscuantitativos y cualitativos para obtener una medida mas precisa.DESCRIPTORES: evaluacion de procesos y resultados (atencion de salud); servicios de enfermeria; acreditacion;administracion hospitalaria

Profile and competencies of nurse managers at accredited hospitals

Se trata de estudio descriptivo que tuvo como objetivo identificar el perfil y las competencias de gerentes de enfermeria, de hospitales acreditados, bajo la optica de estos y de sus superiores jerarquicos, desarrollado en 14 hospitales certificados por la Organizacion Nacional de Acreditacion y por la Joint Commision International del Municipio de Sao Paulo. Para la obtencion de los datos, fueron elaborados dos cuestionarios respondidos por 24 profesionales. El perfil de los gerentes de enfermeria revelo que 69,2% eran provenientes de facultades privadas, todos con mas de 10 anos de formacion y 92,3% con posgraduacion en el area de gestion de la salud. Las competencias que mas poseian en la vision de sus superiores jerarquicos fueron: liderazgo, enfoque en el cliente y trabajo en equipo. Se concluyo que la mayoria de los gerentes de enfermeria poseian semejanzas en cuanto al perfil y competencias, compatibles con las expectativas de sus superiores jerarquicos que colaboraron en la seleccion para el cargo y en la evaluacion de su desempeno profesional.

Competências gerenciais de enfermeiras: um novo velho desafio?

This article is a reflection about the nurses role as a manager of care in the current globalized world with its subsequent demands. It discusses the relevance of the professional education process in order for the nurse to play his/her role in the context of managerial competences, which are currently widely diffused as a management model. It also highlights the relevance of developing management competencies for nurses after the baccalaureate and in the permanent on the job educational processes.

Entendendo as competências para aplicação na enfermagem

The present article consists of a reflection on competencies and their application at the Nursing. It is part ofa doctoral thesis. It was observe that health organizations have not been adopting the Competency Management either because it is a tool that requires specific knowledge or a fairly unexplored tool. We present some considerations on the understanding of Competency Management and its applicability and main Questioning for the nurse professional at the relation with people. We emphasized the registration of its evolution, analyzing different phases, determinant changes that were capable of allying its organizational strategies to the Human Resources politics on professional development.The present article consists of a reflection on competencies and their application at the Nursing. Criatividade e inovação: competências na gestão de enfermagem

This article presents the importance of the creativity and innovation on health services, distinguishing those concepts. Creative behavior is the improvement of an element or known actions: whereas innovation means finding new alternatives. Considering competences like knowledge, skill and attitude--KSA, it is understood that by stimulating creativity and innovation, the performance of the health professional will be optimized. Therefore, creativity and innovation are key elements for improvement and organization, and, more specifically, for Nursing to find alternatives for solving problems related to the occupation as a whole. In this way, this approach brings a strategic tool on the process of management and a differential for the nurse, which by innovating and creating will amaze herself with her potential.This article presents the importance of the creativity and innovation on health services, distinguishing those concepts.
