HISTÓRIA DA EDUCAÇÃO BRASILEIRA:A PRODUÇÃO CIENTÍFICA NA BIBLIOTECA ELETRÔNICA SCIELO

Nowadays, easy access, production and dissemination of information has been bringing about some repercussion in the scientific community and changed the structures of scientific production and dissemination. Improved opportunities of knowledge production in educational research in the country suggest the existence of a significant set of works revealing efforts to analyze and reflect on scientific production in this field. In this perspective, the integration of educational studies with studies in the field of information science are an important contribution in the task of identifying, selecting, collecting, systematizing, and structuring information systems that can widen up the field of studies in education. This article reports a research on scientific production in the field of history of education, consisting of scientific articles published in periodicals catalogued at SCIELO.

O ensino médico em São Paulo e a criação da Escola Paulista de Medicina

The present article analyzes the foundation of Escola Paulista de Medicina (EPM) by discussing the role played by health sciences in the development of Sao Paulos society, mainly in the 1930s. The participants in the project intended to meet the demands for universities and medical assistance by defending specialized knowledge and scientific competence as the base for social development through science, education and health. EPM was gradually created with the participation of non-academic agents and institutions that were important for the institution official and social recognition and permanence. Thus, in the beginning of the 1940s, it was decisive to build a hospital for the school - Hospital Sao Paulo. This article also intends to contribute to the understanding of the functions science has in social organization while dealing with the constituting processes of the specific medical field.

Produção científica em dois periódicos da área de educação

This article focuses the evaluation of scientific literature in Education published between 2001 and 2007 in two major journals in the field: the Journal of Education (RBE) and the Journal of the History of Education (RBHE). The methodology consisted of selecting and reading the abstracts and full texts of the studies of authors and themes, which were analyzed using the approaches of bibliometric studies and with the aid of historical research with an analytic-descriptive focus. The results showed that the behavior of publication are similar in both journals and the scientific literature in education has its own peculiarities, but it has at its core characteristics of social science research in general, for example, high levels of individual publication, predilection to use as reference books and book chapters, high frequency of scientific communication on national sources, among other features.

For what should one do histories of informatics

This article assesses the importance of the history of computing for the study of science and technology in Latin America. Makes the analysis of articles published over the decades from 1980, 1990 and 2000 in the Revista Latinoamericana de Ciencias y de las History it Technology - Quipu.

Organização e acesso às informações jurídicas

A area juridica tornou-se campo importante de atuacao dos bibliotecarios, mas exige destes profissionais, especializacao quanto as terminologias e conhecimento das fontes de informacao especificas que permeiam este universo. O objetivo deste artigo e apresentar as principais ferramentas de organizacao e acesso a informacoes juridicas, com intuito de contribuir com o trabalho dos bibliotecarios, com os estudantes e pesquisadores da area juridica. Para alcancar o objetivo proposto foi realizado um levantamento das principais fontes de informacao da area do Direito. Apresenta-se como resultado uma listagem com ferramentas para organizacao e recuperacao da informacao juridica. Conclui-se que ha disponibilidade de diversas fontes de informacao em Direito; e preciso que o bibliotecario conheca essas fontes e adquira conhecimento sobre as terminologias e linguagem juridica de forma a criar tecnicas para a organizacao e gestao da documentacao juridica.
