Methodi Ordinatio: a proposed methodology to select and rank relevant scientific papers encompassing the impact factor, number of citation, and year of publication

An increase in the number of scientific publications in the last few years, which is directly proportional to the appearance of new journals, has made the researchers’ job increasingly complex and extensive regarding the selection of bibliographic material to support their research. Not only is it a time consuming task, it also requires suitable criteria, since the researchers need to elect systematically the most relevant literature works. Thus the objective of this paper is to propose the methodology called Methodi Ordinatio, which presents criteria to select scientific articles. This methodology employs an adaptation of the ProKnow-C for selection of publications and the InOrdinatio, which is an index to rank by relevance the works selected. This index crosses the three main factors under evaluation in a paper: impact factor, year of publication and number of citations. When applying the equation, the researchers identify among the works selected the most relevant ones to be in their bibliographic portfolio. As a practical application, it is provided a research sample on the theme technology transfer models comprising papers from 1990 to 2015. The results indicated that the methodology is efficient regarding the objectives proposed, and the most relevant papers on technology transfer models are presented.

Reverse logistics for the end-of-life and end-of-use products in the pharmaceutical industry: a systematic literature review

The aim of this paper is to develop a systematic literature review (SLR) aiming to identify reverse logistics (RL) concepts and practices applied to the end-of-life (EOL) and end-of-use (EOU) of pharmaceuticals and to identify and synthesize, through bibliometric indicators, research opportunities on RL, considering the analysis of publications in the periodical Supply Chain Management: An International Journal (SCMij).,The SLR followed two steps, namely, search for articles on the subject and content analysis of selected material and bibliometric analysis of publications using VOSviewer®.,The SLR allowed the compilation of evidences regarding pharmaceutical RL in the groups: environmental risk, the RL evolution and regulatory and stakeholder’s educational perspective. Despite the timid specific literature on pharmaceutical RL, it was also possible to point out research gaps and opportunities. Pharmaceutical RL seems to be influenced by studies from traditional RL including mathematical modeling, managerial strategies and technologies but prescind of a systemic solution. Besides reducing environmental impact, the motivation to implement pharmaceutical RL resides in its potential for revenue. Considering integrated logistics as a trend and an emerging issue, RL for the pharmaceutical industry needs to be addressed more thorough and broadly.,The limited number of papers returned in this SLR of pharmaceutical RL impaired the bibliometric analysis of them, leading to the inclusion of papers on general RL.,This study provides an overview of the evolution of RL in the pharmaceutical industry, it also clarifies concepts and EOL/EOU practices, particularly directed to the pharmaceutical industry RL.

TECNIZAÇÃO E CIVILIZAÇÃO

Este artigo traz o pensamento de Elias sobre a interacao que existe entre os processos de tecnizacao e civilizacao. Para ele, sao ambos processos nao planejados e de longa duracao, sem um alvo pre-definido. O primeiro processo, de tecnizacao, evolui a medida que o homem trabalha em busca uma vida melhor. Neste sentido, Elias faz uma analise das invencoes e descobertas feitas pelo homem, com destaque para a revolucao nos meios de transporte. Ele aponta os beneficios decorrentes desta revolucao, bem como os retrocessos por ela causados no processo de civilizacao da humanidade. Uma vez que os avancos tecnologicos sao utilizados como armas de combate na busca pelo poder, estes favorecem aqueles que tem maior acesso a esses avancos, em detrimento da grande maioria da humanidade. O ultimo processo, o civilizador, tem como premissa basica o autocontrole que, no pensamento de Elias, e condicao imprescindivel para que um individuo possa conviver em harmonia com os demais seres humanos.

Technology transfer in the supply chain oriented to industry 4.0: a literature review

ABSTRACT In the supply chain oriented to Industrial 4.0 Scenario the scarcity of studies on Technology Transfer (TT) can be easily observed. TT is a fundamental process, because it steers the absorption and dissemination of technologies towards the various stages of supply chain. The objective of this study is to contextualise TT in the supply chain of Industrial 4.0 Scenario, focusing on the supply, manufacturing industry and final consumer stages. A review of the literature was carried out, using a structured protocol and criteria to compose the bibliographic portfolio. To support the questions presented in this study, the most relevant articles related to the researched topic were thoroughly analyzed. The results infers that in the Industrial 4.0 Scenario, the supply chain will go through changes, such as real-time visibility throughout the entirety of the supply chain, continuous collaboration between the stages of the chain, among other significant changes.

Construction and qualitative assessment of a bibliographic portfolio using the methodology Methodi Ordinatio

Methodi Ordinatio is a methodology used to accomplish systematic literature reviews, to build bibliographical portfolios, and to map the state of the art of a research theme. It is composed of nine phases. The 7th phase, named InOrdinatio, applies an equation that orders the papers according to its scientific relevance. The equation applies the alpha (α) element, which can vary from 0 to 10 depending on the research need of currentness and according to the researcher’s perception for its variation. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to test and analyse the variations of the alpha (α) values in the equation InOrdinatio and its influence in the qualification of the items that composes a portfolio. In order to reach this purpose, a practical application was performed and a bibliographic portfolio on the theme Horizontal Business Networks and Trust was built. Using the data from the bibliographic portfolio, the alpha values from 0 to 10 were applied and their influence on the final qualification of the articles was analysed. As a complementary objective, the areas where the methodology was successfully applied until now are also identified. The results show that the methodology is coherent, reproducible and useful to sort the most relevant articles in accordance with what is internationally recognized as valid scientific criteria: the impact factor, year of publication, and number of citations.

Best management practices used by companies in Campos Gerais region, Paraná, Brazil

In order to maintain its productivity, it is necessary for a company more than technical expertise of its staff; it is also necessary to use the techniques of industrial management, appropriate to achieve organizational goals. This article examines perceptions of students’ faculties in the in the region of Campos Gerais, Parana, Brazil. They were asked to respond a questionnaire, which would demonstrate the reality of organizations where they work as formal collaborators or interns. The main objective of the research is to identify the use of management practices as tools to improve productivity and, consequently, organizational competitiveness. Through these information and analysis it was possible to make a comparison with the management practices used by companies in the State of Parana, reported in the Industrial Survey, annually conducted by FIEP (Federation of Industries of Parana State). The methodological research is characterized as descriptive and exploratory held by a multi-case study with qualitative approach. The survey results indicated that the business scenario in the region of Campos Gerais shows that the analyzed companies mostly do not adopt management practices. However, when considering the analysis by sector, it was observed that the ERP (Enterprise Requirements Planning) is the main technique used in the industrial sector, and in the other sectors the lack of a management technique prevails.

Technology transfer models: typology and a generic model

The technology transfer (TT) process has been adopted by companies throughout the world. For many companies and countries, the implementation of TT process is determinant to the economic growth and a way to keep updated with technology development and innovation. Ever since TT started to be discussed in the literature, several different models of TT have been proposed with the purpose of making the TT process easier and more successful. The purpose of this paper is to propose a generic model that can be adapted to any organisation and institution interested in transferring knowledge and technology. To reach this purpose, a systematic review on technology transfer models was done using the methodology for systematic review, Methodi Ordinatio, using data from 1990 to 2015. Due to the great variety of models identified in the systematic review, and for better understanding those models and their purposes, a typology is also presented.

TIPOLOGIAS DE AGLOMERAÇÕES PRODUTIVAS DE EMPRESAS: UM ESTUDO DE CASO

Esse estudo objetivou caracterizar a aglomeracao produtiva do setor de Moveis de Metal e Sistemas de Armazenagem e Logistica de Ponta Grossa, PR, segundo as tipologias apresentadas na literatura. Foi realizada uma pesquisa exploratoria por acessibilidade, com abordagem quantitativa e procedimentos qualitativos complementares. Os dados foram coletados atraves de questionario e entrevistas com os socios e/ou proprietarios das empresas do setor. A analise dos dados aponta que o setor se trata de aglomeracao produtiva de empresas em estagio embrionario de interacao.
